We enjoy competitive games but above that we are passionate about being a fun evening. We put being sociable and supportive at the top of the agenda
Although we all enjoy playing competitively we are not a league club. Some players like the odd suggestion – but many don’t.
Most players have played for several years so regrettably we are not suitable for beginners. However, that said we are not league players. Most of us are too old anyway.
Oh and the ladies would really like a few more ladies to bolster their numbers
Court etiquette
- Be tolerant if serves are maybe a little outside the ordinary
- Be generous in your view of line calls, scoring misunderstandings etc
- Do not moan, groan, roll eyes or otherwise belittle another player’s shots
- Please book as early as possible to avoid disappointment and give us time to fill empty slots (we usually start tuesday evening) from guests
- Please pay when you book in
- Try to mix and avoid playing with the same person/people too many times. Try to partner with everyone.
- Those sitting out get to choose all the players for the next game. Nobody should go back onto the court without consideration to those that have sat out and are yet to choose their game.
- Please bring a shuttle to the court every time. Expect to use yours one in every four games.
- Respect and be kind to everyone. It’s a wonderful club. Most importantly enjoy great games and have fun!
